HW for Dec. 1

1. Re-do resume. Look at book examples for format, wording, and content ideas to include. Make this a resume you can use for a job.
2. Complete your letter of application

Project 6

Ø  Read 246 – 263. Then write a Progress Report with the subject “My Progress in Writing 101.” Use page 262 as a model. The length needs to be 1.5 pages.
Ø  Read pages 205 – 234. Then write an Elevator Pitch (1 page to include 25% graphics). Use page 233 – 234 as a model.
Ø  Both papers need to be 11 pt. Times Roman, 1.5 spaced in the class format.
Ø  (1)Print the copies and write notes in the margins to indicate where the description followed the particular formats on the model pages.  Bring these to class.
Ø   (2) Attach the reports to an e-mail.
Ø   (3) In the e-mail explain what the reports are about and that it is attached.
Ø   (4) Send it to me. 
Ø  First person is not allowed for this project.
Ø    Due by e-mail 9 a.m. Dec. 7 (Monday) and due in hard copy at 2 p.m. Dec. 8 (Tuesday)

Ø  Type a business proposal for something you really think will work. Go through the steps in the Planning handout. Do appropriate research so that your proposal is professional and convincing.
Length: 1.5 to 2 pages

Project 4

Project 4

Ø  Write a technical description for a particular field. Follow the format from the textbook example on page 148.  Make this a description that you could use in your field of study. The length needs to be two pages in the following format:  
Ø  The description should be 11 pt. Times Roman, 1.5 spaced. At the top of the page, put your name, class, date, and instructor name:
Ø  Also, add graphics to enhance this description (however graphics cannot be more than 20% of the paper). Then:
Ø  (1) print the copy and write notes in the margins to indicate where the description followed the particular format on page 148 (similar to how the textbook does with blue ink).
Ø   (2) Attach the description to an e-mail.
Ø   (3) In the e-mail explain what the description is about and that it is attached
Ø   (4) Send it to me. 

You will need to review the chapter in order to do this project correctly.
